POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Writer 1 is responsible for working with the business analysts, developers, and product managers to create and maintain software documentation for end users. The Technical Writer 1 will document functionality of Savana’s products clearly, so that end users fully understand the features.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The type of activities expected to be performed at this level include, but are not limited to:
– Creating and updating documentation that describes Savana’s product features, including release notes, quick reference guides, user guides, administration guides, etc.
– Preparing training materials detailing product functionality.
– Translating functional requirements into consistent and readable release documentation.

EDUCATION
– A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business or English is preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Jira, and Confluence is a must.
– Must have 1-3 years of software documenting experience
– Experience with component content management systems (e.g. easyDITA) is a plus
– Experience documenting APIs is a plus
– Banking background or experience with financial application is preferred.
– Experience with information technology, and systems analysis is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
– Must have proven strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
– Proven ability to multi-task and work across multiple teams is required.
– Travel may be included in this role. (0-15%)
