POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst plays an integral role in providing management reporting, business analytics, variance analysis and decision support to senior management and stakeholders throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Financial Analyst with experience in working with Fintech, Excel, financial dashboard platforms, budgeting, planning, reporting and the ability to measure QA success. The candidate should be able to work with the various teams on performance management and have the understand of business language.
This role will partner with business leaders to deliver insights to key stakeholders and ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The type of activities expected to be performed at this level include, but are not limited to:
Data and reporting
– Leveraging current tools (e.g. OpenAir, Jira) and research new to facilitate company dashboards and improved reporting and analytics
– Enhancing internal and external reporting for various stakeholders: staff, executive team, investors
– Support for investor relations, including quarterly investor communications, Carta/cap table
Internal analysis:
– Partnering with business teams to build models to quantify costs and benefits of decisions (example: work with ISS to compare costs and benefits of hosting on GCP vs. AWS vs. Azure)
– Support sales team and pricing models, including modeling sensitivities to key variables
– Build prototype “projects” and capacity analysis to enable scenario modeling and staffing impacts
Industry analysis:
– Collecting and analyzing data and statistics about client/prospect banks
– Comparing pricing and other features for partners and vendors
– Understanding competitors / collaborators
– Tracking key industry metrics, e.g. SaaS revenue multiples
EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or another highly analytical field is required. Comparable work experience may be considered.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
– Must have at least 3 years experience in a financial analyst or data analyst role
– Must have strong Excel and quantitative modelling skills
– Strong communication skills (Word, PowerPoint, Oral) is required.
– Data analysis – extracting, cleaning, aligning, analyzing data
– Experience with visual dashboarding, either using a third party solution (e.g. Tableau, QlikSense) and/or adapting larger solutions (e.g. Cognos) for finance-specific needs
OTHER SKILLS
– Experience in either the financial services or software industry; working for a Fintech is a huge plus
– Experience with M&A / due diligence / vendor management is highly preferred.
